J’ai visité la Réunion en 1998, avec mon sac à dos, et mon Guide du Routard… C’était une grande aventure… ce qui rendait ce voyage merveilleur c'est que j’y retrouvais des amis d’enfance. Avant la sortie du film, j’ai mis les pieds sur Madagascar, mais seulement pendant une heure ; un arrêt obligatoire causé par une grève à l’aéroport de la Réunion. Ses terres rouges ont laissé une marque indélébile dans mes souvenirs.

In 1998, with my backpack, and my Guide du Routard, I visited La Reunion… It was a great adventure… and what made it even more special was that I was meeting childhood friends. Before the release of the film, I set foot on Madagascar, but only for one hour; a mandatory stop because of the strike at La Reunion airport. The red landscape has left an indelible mark on my memories.
