Défi d'écriture
Ce mois-ci, c’est NaNoWriMo. Si vous ne savez pas ce que c’est, laissez-moi vous en donner un aperçu. L’initiative a débuté en 1999 à San Francisco avec 21 participants. L’idée était d’encourager l’écriture créative et chaque participant a été mis au défi de rédiger 50 000 mots en un mois. Vingt ans plus tard, c’est devenu un événement international annuel avec plus de 450 000 participants en 2019. Si vous atteignez la cible, vous avez l’esquisse d’un roman !
L’année dernière, j'ai participé au NaNoWriMo de Reedsy et j’ai écrit un manuscrit. C’est encore squelettique, mais je peux le travailler pour finaliser le livre. Je prévois de publier la première histoire de Sofia Debassy l’année prochaine, mais, en attendant, voici son fichier d’identification.
Cette année, je ne relèverai pas le défi NaNoWriMo parce que je prépare déjà un roman. Cependant, je me suis fixé pour objectif de le finaliser (« War of Taar ») pour les lecteurs bêta et de rédiger une nouvelle. Je parlerai de mes progrès sur Instagram et Facebook tous les vendredis.
Si vous envisagez d’écrire un livre et que vous n’avez jamais trouvé le moment pour le faire, rejoindre un défi NaNoWriMo vous offre un bon moyen d’encourager votre plume intérieure à glisser librement sur le papier. Les organisateurs fournissent beaucoup d’astuces et vous écrirez aux côtés d’un demi-million de passionnés des mots.
C’est un court blogue aujourd’hui, mais si vous avez envie de vous donner un défi d’écriture et que vous n’êtes pas prêt à rejoindre un NaNoWriMo, dites-moi ce que vous aimeriez écrire !

Writing challenge
This month, it is NaNoWriMo. If you don’t know what it is, let me give you a flavour for it. The initiative started in 1999, in San Francisco, with 21 participants. The idea was to encourage creative writing and each participant was challenged with writing 50,000 words in a month. Whizz forward 20 years, this has become an annual, international event with over 450,000 participants in 2019. If you reach the target, you have a drafted novel!
Last year, I joined the Reedsy NaNoWriMo and wrote a manuscript. It’s still very skeletal, but I can build on it. I’m planning to introduce Sofia Debassy next year but until then, here’s her identity file.
This year, I won’t take the NaNoWriMo challenge because I’m already working on a novel. However, I have set a goal to finalise it (War of Taar) for the beta readers and to draft a short story. I will post my progress on Instagram and Facebook every Friday.
If you’re thinking of writing a book and never found the incentive to do so, joining a NaNoWriMo challenge is a good way to encourage your inner pen to flow freely. They provide lots of tricks and you will write alongside half a million kindred spirits.
